In your plot, what good qualities did the protagonist have in the past that made a princess fall in love and dream about it?

After reading a few chapters, it was too confusing, the supporting characters appeared inexplicably, there was no background characterization, and the plot was not very coherent. It feels like it was written in a hurry and concisely. For example, it takes 20 sentences to explain something clearly, but the author only wrote one or two sentences.
