Journey to the West: Starting as the Keeper of the Peach Garden

“Seven Fairies, you won’t let me stay on shore, and I can’t go in the water either. Where the hell am I supposed to stay? I’m done putting up with this!” “You… You dare use such foul language!” … “Disaster, Your Majesty! The Golden Toad has knocked over the Jade Pool’s pearl!” [You knocked over the Jade Pool’s pearl, angering the Queen Mother and bringing disaster and punishment upon yourself. Yet fortune lurks within misfortune, and misfortune within fortune. Fate is uncertain, and your choices determine what comes next.] [Choice One: Don’t argue or try to clear your name. What happened is water under the bridge. Voluntarily take the blame before the Queen Mother. In consideration of your past merits, she may forgive you and take a liking to you. You will be punished by working in the Peach Garden, and afterward you can gain an eighth-grade opportunity. Keep a low profile, and your good fortune will last.] [Choice Two: Don’t make excuses. Honestly explain what happened and voluntarily accept responsibility for your mistake before the Queen Mother. She will give you a lighter punishment. Once the storm has passed, wait patiently for your chance to gain a ninth-grade opportunity. But this will offend the fairies of the Jade Pool and draw their resentment, leaving hidden trouble in its wake.] [Choice Three: Explain what happened and do your best to defend yourself, shifting blame onto the other party. You might escape punishment and return to the Jade Pool, but before gaining anything, you will have offended the Seven Fairies. You will make enemies of the celestial maidens and be caught in a dangerous situation, with life or death uncertain. Ominous.]
