I Gave Up on the Woman Who Kept Me as a Backup

I was Lin Kexin’s backup guy for ten years, and finally became her boyfriend in the tenth year. But on our anniversary, just as I was about to propose to her in front of everyone, she and her longtime crush humiliated me for being a simp. Everyone turned their mocking, disdainful gazes on me. She spoke without a care. “It was just a joke. You’re not actually mad, are you?” Everyone thought I’d lower my head and keep fawning over her like I always had. Instead, I tossed aside the engagement ring I’d prepared. “I am mad, so we’re breaking up.”
