My Wife Made Me Drink Poisonous Mushroom Soup for Her One True Love

My wife and I were stranded in the mountains with the woman I’d always loved. My wife made two kinds of mushroom soup and let me choose first. I drank the poisonous one and died in the dead of night. Wild beasts dragged my body away and tore it to pieces. My wife was relieved that the woman she loved hadn’t gone hungry, and the next day the two of them waited for the rescue team together. She made a double-sided drum and beat it with a bone to celebrate surviving the ordeal. She had no idea that the owner of the skin and bones was actually me. Later, when she found out, she cried until she could barely make a sound, but there was no way I could ever come back.
