Longevity: It Begins When a Fox Demon Comes Knocking

“The strange, the violent, the disorderly, and the divine”: these are things the Master did not speak of.

But though the netherworld follows a different path, does that mean it is not real?

In the mountains lurks the Kui Ox; in the wilderness wanders the Panghuang; in the marshes coils the Weishe; in the waters dwells the Wangxiang. Strange and wondrous things abound.

Fox demons wreak havoc, and wicked dragon wyrms run amok.

Tigers and leopards can wield the brush, while white apes understand human feelings.

Square mirrors speak eloquently, and Buddhist chants can turn men into monks.

Yin soldiers borrow the roads, and Daoist arts can grant rebirth.

Yan Qing came from Earth, carrying a treasure-gathering immortal basin. He revered the Dao and sought immortality, but whenever he witnessed injustice, he would slay demons.

This is a tale of the strange, set in a world that belongs to the strange.
