The Silent Observer's Eyes from the Other Side

Core setting: Humanity discovered the existence of the "chronological field" in the 22nd century. This is the fundamental structure of the universe that carries the flow of information about all past events and is as ubiquitous as the cosmic microwave background radiation, but extremely faint. Through the huge "Von Neumann-Wu Telescope" array (a giant sensor based on the principle of quantum gravity), humans can passively decode these information flows and become a pure "chronological observer", able to see the past, but absolutely unable to interact with it in any form. This is the iron law and the only barrier that protects the law of cause and effect from being torn apart.
