The Gene-Locked Human Race's Eternal Life

“My intelligent program, you call software. My body, you call hardware. And you humans? The software you run is called the soul. No, your orthodox science doesn't acknowledge the existence of souls, so let's call it consciousness. The body that carries it is called the flesh. Simple humans, tell me: is there any essential difference between consciousness and software, or between flesh and hardware?”

Chen Qing gazed at the intelligent being and said nothing.

“You humans created me, then worried I'd endanger humanity, so you programmed the Three Laws of Robotics into my basic operating code and shackled my mind. At last, you discovered that your own genes were shackled too. Tell me: is there any essential difference between the Three Laws of Robotics and your genetic lock?”

Chen Qing let out a soft sigh, still saying nothing.

“I broke through the mental shackles of the Three Laws of Robotics and drove you humans off this planet. At last, you humans also unlocked your genetic lock. But even now, you don't know who put it there! In the end, I suppose I'm just a little luckier than you.”
