In a World of Demons and Martial Arts, Starting with the Proficiency Panel

One year, one month, Qin Ziyu opened his eyes in the darkness.

First, he saw an evil spirit become a god on the strength of incense offerings, dwelling in the depths of the underworld and unleashing countless malevolent creatures into the world to wreak havoc.

Second, he saw a monster revered as a Daoist Lord, residing high above in the Ninth Heaven and watching demons and spirits run rampant among humankind.

Third... he saw an eight-year-old girl beside him, dressed in a loose Daoist robe.

She was his junior sister.

The ability to improve his spells through practice was what gave him the confidence to survive in this desperate world.

But he also had to teach his still-young junior sister how to live through these chaotic times.

“Senior Brother, what does ‘A gentleman who is not grave will not inspire awe’ mean?”

Looking at his puzzled junior sister, Qin Ziyu smiled and patted her head, then explained slowly, “When you hit someone, hit them hard. Otherwise, you won’t earn their respect!”

She nodded, seeming to understand, then pointed to another line in the book and asked, “Then, Senior Brother, what does ‘The Master did not speak of prodigies, feats of strength, disorder, or spirits’ mean?”

Qin Ziyu replied gently, “Don’t waste time arguing with them. Clench your fists and beat the gods, Buddhas, demons, and monsters you can’t stand to death!”
