On the Eight Desolations Continent, countless races contend along the path to immortality, while humanity is merely a tiny speck of dust among them. The myriad monsters feed on human flesh, while the countless demons use human souls as magical artifacts. Although humanity possesses cultivators no weaker than those of the myriad races, they stand aloof and regard mortals with indifference, merely to avoid becoming entangled in karma. Perhaps in their eyes, once they set foot on the path to immortality, they and ordinary humans have already become two different species.
