Song of the Great Frontier

With one step, I slay the court ministers; on horseback, I smash ten thousand troops. I laugh and discuss a century of achievement, dancing drunk through snow a thousand feet deep. Behind red gauze curtains, green smoke drifts through. For whom are the brocade handkerchiefs of the four directions left? Rouge-stained tears, a golden hairpin raised. For whom do the two lines of the word love flow? I pass through the strange and treacherous waves of this world, laughing as I tread across the boundless frost and snow of the desert. Three lifetimes woven in splendor, two hearts journeying together. For whom shall the songs of a lifetime’s borders be sung!
