The General in the Wilderness

Within the imperial court, immortals and mortals serve together. Those skilled in war become generals; those skilled in governance become ministers. Some toil tirelessly, while others coast along in office. Beyond the court, the jianghu is a world of chivalry. Confucian knights save the world; corrupt knights seek to deliver its people. Schools of magic and the Dao contend, immortal cultivators vie for supremacy, and countless currents converge as rival fleets compete. In the northern lands, demonic sects stand everywhere. Evil hearts give rise to desire; a taste for battle leads to slaughter. The world is vast, but I alone am greatest. One general’s success is built on ten thousand corpses. The western regions are home to a myriad of demon clans. Those who become enemies do so by nature or because their interests clash. Those who become friends may act out of compassion, or may be hiding their true intentions. Dark clouds gather, and the winds of change blow. Generals emerge from the wilderness, and a new king ascends the throne.
