A Century to Reset Everything

Everyone knows the universe is full of wonders, and anything can happen here. Of all the planets in the universe, only a very few have given rise to life, including Earth. The life on every other planet is unintelligent. Beyond that, there are mysterious forces from the universe known as the Zeroers. Of course, they too fear a certain supernatural force, one so powerful it exists beyond the universe. They worry that these planets might give rise to it. Every hundred years, the Zeroers forcibly wipe out all life on the planets they designate. The Zeroers are neither human nor divine. They are simply a prearranged System, stationed on a planet somewhere in the universe.
