The Beloved Little Money Lover of the Farming Family

Xu Shan says his younger sister, Xu Jiaojiao, was probably so poor in her previous life that she died of hunger. When their mother was pregnant with her, she dreamed that the baby asked whether the Xu family was wealthy. Since Xu Shan's father had the character “wealth” in his name, their mother figured it was close enough and nodded. The baby nodded in satisfaction, too. But on the night Xu Jiaojiao was born, their mother dreamed of her again. The baby said her mother had lied: the Xu family wasn't wealthy at all! For years afterward, no matter who tried, nobody could pry even a single copper coin out of the little miser's hands.
