The Nine Palaces of Linxue

There is a legend in this world. It tells of a fireball that came flying from the depths of the universe and crashed to the ground. Nothing grew where it fell; the yellow earth was scorched black. The enormous fireball transformed into a great demon and wrought havoc among humanity. Wherever it went, people were reduced to piles of bones, and not even an ant could survive. By sheer luck, the eight greatest masters in the world fought with all their might and managed to seal the great demon beneath the earth. After countless ages, the demon came to be known as Evil Descent.
