I, Danzo, the Fifth Hokage

When Shimura wakes up, he discovers he has transmigrated into the body of Shimura Danzo, the biggest scapegoat in Naruto, a character Kishimoto created with all the carelessness of a man who couldn’t care less.

He figures that, as the head of Root’s covert operations, he can enjoy the spoils of corruption before taking the fall for the Third Hokage. But once the world of Naruto becomes reality, Shimura discovers that everything he thought he knew is a little different from the story he read:

“What? Root has only sixteen people in total, including me? And we have to work around the clock, seven days a week? No days off?”

“What? The Uchiha clan is so powerful that Konoha’s current top fighters can’t beat them?”

“What? The Third Hokage is the real laughingstock of the ninja world? Of the nine terrible things I’ve done, he ordered me to do ten of them?”

“...Should I just go with the flow and become Hokage while I’m at it?”
