Looking at Baochai's gentlemanly style from Haitang's poems
In the thirty-seventh chapter of the Qiu Shuangzhai Occasionally Formed Begonia Society, the poem about Bai Begonia is the only time in the book that the poems written when everyone forms a poetry club have the same title, style, and rhyme. In this case, Li Wan acted as the referee and judged Baochai's poem to be the first. Baoyu was actually not angry because he knew Daiyu. However, poetry criticism has always been highly subjective. For example, Zhi Yanzhai commented that "Both of them are good at poetry" and "Xue and Lin did not pay attention to this." In fact, it does not matter who loses and who wins. What is important is that the original author clearly intended to use this poem to highlight different characters and characters. However, there is a natural reason why Cao Xueqin arranged for Baochai to win the first prize in this poetry society. To analyze Bai Haitang, we must start with the title of Bai Haitang. In Volume 24 of Wang Shizhen's "Chibei Ou Tan", there is an allusion explaining Bai Haitang: Fan Lie's daughter, Fan Liang's daughter in Yizhou, Xu Zitian, was unmarried and her husband died. When the martyr woman heard about it, she hanged herself. In front of the court, there was a square flower of Begonia, which was very beautiful at that time. After the girl died, the flower suddenly turned white. At that time, literati were curious about it, mostly writing poems and chanting clouds. It can be seen that Bai Haitang itself is related to the identity and conduct of being dignified, self-respecting and self-reliant. The poem written by Baochai is undoubtedly more in line with Bai Haitang's own meaning and realm than others. Cherish your beauty and keep your door closed during the day, and hold your hands in the urn to fill the moss basin. Rouge washes out the shadow of autumn, and ice and snow reveal the soul. I know the flowers are more beautiful when they are very light. How can I find jade without a trace when I am sad? , After the first sentence, "Cherish your beauty and keep your door closed during the day," Zhi Yanzhai commented, "Baochai's poems are all about identity and satire on current affairs. Only character and behavior come first, and talent and skills are the last..." This established Baochai's steady and self-sustained tone and character. The chin couplet "The rouge washes away the shadow of the autumn steps" is actually derived from the Song Dynasty poet Mei Yaochen's "Drunk and watching the spring rain wash away the rouge". It all says that the rouge is washed away from Begonia to reveal pure white. This is exactly the same as Baochai's consistent style of "not liking flowers and pink children, nor rich and casual clothes". Sure enough, there is a comment from Zhi Yanzhai next, "Seeing that he is clean and self-reliant, he will never make a frivolous comment." In the neck couplet, "The flowers are more beautiful when they are light" is a very famous tag of Baochai. It also means that Baochai is simple and orderly, and does not like the garish rouge and incense aesthetic style. Zhi Yanzhai gave this sentence a very high evaluation, but I personally think that "there is no trace of jade in a lot of sorrow" is the wonderful way to highlight Baochai's character. If the previous sentences were just praising Baochai for cherishing her beauty as a lady, then this sentence suddenly raises the realm to a higher level. Going back to Bai Haitang's poetic eyes, Bai Haitang's charm lies not only in her chastity and self-control, but also in her essential spirit of independence and self-reliance, her sentiment of "going through the waves, neither happy nor afraid". Baochai's open-minded, optimistic, calm and composed attitude towards life is also mentioned repeatedly in Dream of Red Mansions. The so-called "Thousands of threads will never change, let them gather and separate. The good wind will send me to the blue clouds with its power" is also this kind of self-song sentiment, and is also in line with Zhi Yanzhai's attitude towards life that "even if we are separated, we can be at peace with ourselves".
[About the age at which Daiyu entered the Jia Mansion] This has always been controversial in the Dream of Red Mansions. Most opinions believe that Daiyu entered the Jia Mansion at the age of six, because in the second chapter, it was clearly stated that Daiyu was five years old. Then Jia Yucun taught in the Lin Mansion for more than a year, and then Jia Min died of illness, and the Jia Mansion sent someone Okay, so Lin Daiyu was only six or seven years old when she arrived at Jia's house. Then Daiyu entered Jia's house. When she woke up the next day, Jia's house received a letter from Xue Pan beating Feng Yuan to death. This happened when Baochai was 12 years old. Baochai was 2 years older than Daiyu, which means Daiyu was 10 years old now. It's funny, Daiyu was 10 when she woke up! This is inconsistent. Most people's view is that waking up the next day is the day after several years, just like how many years have passed when we write novels. Cao Gong omitted this period of time! It's easy to understand here. The next day is an imaginary number. A few years later, Daiyu woke up and received a letter from Xue Pan beating someone to death, so Daiyu was 6 years old when she entered Jia's house! The above logic is self-consistent and perfect, but if it were that simple, this issue would not always be controversial. As long as you read it carefully, you will find that it doesn't make sense at all. Let's connect more context. First, Jia Yucun. Jia Yucun came to Beijing with Daiyu. Daiyu was 6 years old at this time. Jia Yucun came to the capital to find Jia Zheng. Two months later, he took office in Yingtian Mansion. After taking office, he immediately received Xue Pan's case. Baochai was 12 years old and Daiyu was 10 years old at the time of Xue Pan's case. The logical paradox emerged! If the next day was a few years later, it would have been a few years before Jia Yucun received Xue Pan's case in Jinling. But Jia Yucun went to Jinling in February and received the case immediately! Then there is Xueyan's age. When Daiyu entered Jia's house, Jia's mother thought that Xueyan was 10 years old and was too young to do anything, so she gave Zicuckoo. Zicuckoo was older than Xueyan. If Daiyu was 6 years old at that time, then Baochai was 8 years old, Xueyan was 10 years old, Zicuckoo was even older, and Xiren and Baochai were the same age, so Xueyan was older than Xiren? Zijuan is much bigger than Xiren? It doesn't look right no matter how you look at it. And as long as Daiyu is changed to 10 years old when she enters Jia's house, everything will be logical again. If she wakes up the next day, it is the real waking up the next day, then all the connections between Jia Yucun and the rest of the story are logically consistent. But the problem arises again. Daiyu entered the Jia Mansion at the age of 10, and had conflicts with the previous article when she was teaching in Jia Yucun at the age of 5, and Jia Min died at the age of 6, so she had to go back to the Jia Mansion at the age of 6... So this is a controversial issue. As for how old Daiyu was when she entered the Jia Mansion, so many people have been arguing for so many years, but there has been no result, so there is really no need to care. In this article, for the sake of logical flow, Daiyu is set to enter the Jia Mansion at the age of 10. When Cao Gong wrote Red Mansions, he used a lot of Zhen Jia's writing methods, including Zhen's age and Jia's age. He did not contradict himself, and he wrote it like this on purpose. He himself said that it was full of nonsense, so there is no need to get too entangled. When you read this book, just listen to what I say. You can just take it for granted. It is my business to look up information. You can just enjoy reading the book and pictures. That's it, meow!
Love this book so much. After reading this book, I threw away all the previous Red Mansions and only pursued this one wholeheartedly. Every time I watch it like crazy, my aunt's smile can't help but appear on my face.

I hope this book can have seven or eight hundred chapters or a good ending. Bad endings are the most annoying thing. Don't belittle Dai Chai, well, we should put Sister Bao and Sister Lin on the same footing. Also, can it be faster? I want to see updates every time I open the starting point.
I firmly support taking in Grandma Liu, what a mature woman!

Looking forward to it, the author works hard. A very interesting Red Mansion novel. It's not as sinister as it's written. Today's Red Mansion novels are so sinister that I can't read them.

The Dream of Red Mansions is a knot that cannot be untied after more than ten years. I have seen few well-written books, and some that cannot be finished even though they are halfway through. The writing threshold is too high. Order all of them first, come on, the author

Hey hey
Doesn't anyone like Wang Xifeng? I strongly request that Sister Feng be given more roles 😆
This is a great daily write-up. Can you post more? When will it be released? There will be few updates ( •︠ˍ•︡ )
Why is Baochai called Baochai? Why is Daiyu called Daiyu?
Let's talk about [Baochai] first. There is a famous saying in the book, "The nobles in the mountains are covered with crystal snow, and the fairy trees are lonely in the forest." The source of this sentence is actually a poem by Gao Qi, a great talent in the Ming Dynasty. This sentence directly refers to the allusion of Yuan An in the Eastern Han Dynasty, about the noble scholar lying in the snow, describing the virtuous man who lived a hard life but was honest and self-sufficient. On Baoyu's fourteenth birthday, the sisters played a game of "shooting". There is a poem in the book that corresponds to the origin of Baochai's name - "Knock off the jade hairpin and the red candle is cold." This sentence describes a woman who knocks out the red candles in the house because she misses her husband. In addition, there is a poem in the book that says, "There is no day when Baochai will not be born in dust." It even directly names Baochai. This sentence says that the wife was sleepless late at night because she missed her husband. The book Dream of Red Mansions has thousands of threads, and there will never be more than one hint about the fate of such a major event as the golden hairpin, such as "The golden hairpin is buried in the snow." Spoiler Madman Zhi Yanzhai once commented: "This sentence has a profound meaning, and it does not mean the place where it was born." In Zhengzi Tongli, it is explained that the hairpin has two strands, and the hairpin is a single strand. The ancients often used Baochai as a metaphor for the separation of husband and wife. In Baochai's own poem, there is also another sentence: "The anxious head returns to the twilight, and the heart is burned day after day." All of these all imply that Baochai ended up staying alone in an empty house and living as a widow in the original work. In Zhiyanzhai, there was an evaluation of Baochai, "After experiencing the heat and cold, he knows the joys and sorrows, and he can be at peace even though we are separated." This also directly refers to Baochai's self-sufficient character and conduct after becoming a widow, and it is ultimately in line with the ultimate personality of "a noble scholar in the mountains". The name Lin Daiyu comes from the sentence "The beauty comes under the moonlight in the forest". It is also an allusion used by Zhao Shixiong in the Sui Dynasty to describe plum blossoms. In ancient times, the word "wind under the forest" was originally a poem describing celebrities in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. When used to describe women, the words "wind under the forest" and "wind under the forest" were often used to describe women's anti-secular temperament. It is also completely consistent with Lin Daiyu's character design of "Lonely Forest in a Fairyland".
Ten years
It was the end of the month and the rain was fading. One evening, the king and his concubine were riding in a carriage together. The lights in the corridor are brilliant, as bright as day. Jia Jue knew that Daiyu was cold, so he stretched out his hand to hold the catkins and asked softly: "Are you too tired to kiss the silkworms today?" Daiyu looked tired and leaned sleepily in another corner. She was looking at the palace in the distance. She didn't notice that he was so abrupt, and she immediately raised her eyebrows and said "I'm going to die" and was about to blurt out. But he raised his eyes and saw the worry in Jia Jue's eyes, blushed with embarrassment, and spat softly: "Why am I so tired?" Jia Jue smiled softly, put his mouth to her hand, and took a few breaths for her. The sudden intimate behavior made Daiyu's face blush even more. The light slanted over, making Jia Jue's eyebrows clear and clear. Daiyu was stunned for a moment, lowered her head, raised the corners of her mouth slightly, and leaned gently into his arms. The rain outside the palace is still falling one after another, and the candlelight inside the palace is reflected. The shadows of lamps are swaying in the rain, and the top and bottom are bright. The green neck is red, and the heron is flying in pairs. Promise for a hundred years, for a lifetime. (It's random writing, it has nothing to do with the text, don't mind)
