At the dawn of time, who passed down the Way? When was the ancient age, and when did it begin? The world undergoes a cataclysmic change. During the generation or conversion of energy, most of it is suddenly absorbed by a mysterious substance. In a single night, mechanical creations such as airplanes, cars, and phones become nothing but scrap metal, and human civilization is thrown back centuries. Yet this mysterious substance also fuels evolution. In the new tide, some people remain ordinary, some become monsters, and others gain supernatural powers.
