Troubled Times at Home and Country

From the reign of Guangxu to the founding of New China, life scenes spanning more than half a century are based on the simple life in the countryside. It tells the story of the ancestors' continuous progress from ordinary farmers to their ideological progress, their efforts to send their children out of the mountain village and into the big cities, to grow up to be an indispensable figure, and then to the decline of the family and become a member of the ordinary society. The story is written as a third person, telling the historical transformation of a small person to a small person and back to a small person in troubled times.
