One Day, I Became a Celebrity’s Assistant

Three years after graduation, Han Xiao still has no steady job and worries every day about the balance in his bank account. Then one day, a celebrity big shot drops out of the sky and specifically asks Han Xiao to be his personal assistant.

A windfall from the heavens, and a ridiculously handsome one at that! Blinded by good looks and money, Han Xiao happily signs the contract, dreaming of clinging to the big shot’s coattails and reaching the pinnacle of life.

But reality is another story:

The big shot is a total tyrant. He won’t drink milk unless it’s exactly eighty degrees Celsius, and he won’t drink coffee unless it has exactly twenty grams of sugar... Han Xiao can just about put up with all that, but the truly outrageous part is that the big shot wants his eggs fried so one half is seventy percent done and the other half is ninety percent done.

How on earth are you supposed to fry that? Someone’s mouth twitches.

After enduring all sorts of absurd demands from the big shot, who keeps finding ways to make trouble, Han Xiao finally can’t take it anymore and asks to resign. The big shot calmly pulls out the contract, tosses it in front of his little assistant, and says casually:

“Pay me three times the penalty for breaking the contract.”

Three times means... a whole lot of money, more than Han Xiao could repay even if he sold himself. He’s furious with himself. If only he’d been more discerning back then. But it’s too late for regrets now. He’d better keep clinging to the big shot’s coattails and wait for payday.
