Pila Pengpa

In 2007, while riding an arcade motorcycle at a game center, the protagonist watches the images on the screen turn into scenes from the next ten years of his life, with him riding through them. At the end, he sees his future self standing on a sheer cliff, unfastening the safety rope in his hands. Resentment, humiliation, and other emotions knot inside him. Worse still, countless voices have appeared in his mind, spying on and insulting him every moment. He has become a troubled middle-aged man. Just as he is about to leap, the little motorcycle turns around and starts heading back. Overjoyed, the protagonist cries out, “I’m going to live again!” But just as he is about to return to 2007 and defy fate, he hears a charming call at his ear, one he will never forget: “Pila peng pa!” A fork opens in the time tunnel, and the spirited young man sets off on a journey to another world on his beloved little motorcycle.
