Our Story Begins with Fruit Candy

[Highlight: A campus crime-investigation story with a large ensemble cast. If that’s not your thing, consider yourself warned!] If college is a chance for most people to experience a new life and pursue their dreams, then for Li Xiruo, it is surely the chance to put an end to her dark past. Her dream, her beloved, her friends: all within arm’s reach. The things she once lost through a cruel twist of fate seem to be returning to her life, little by little, as destiny’s gears turn once more. Perhaps it takes a parting to make us grow up in an instant. Everything that belongs to us will return one day. What matters is that the young heart holds on to the courage to keep moving forward, and finds the future that is meant for it. “You’ve always been the sun. Why insist on borrowing someone else’s light?” he shouted to her from the shore. “Ruoruo, if you ever lose yourself, remember to look back at us. We’ll go with you and help you find your way back.” “My little princess, believe that you’re the sweetest candy in the world. Don’t be so hard on yourself,” she said gently, stroking her head. “You are the light of my life, the one direction I’ve chosen without hesitation. I truly don’t know where else I could go but to your side.” Standing behind her, he pulled her tightly into his arms. When time has passed and everything has changed, perhaps we’ll look back and realize that fate had arranged it all along. But often, the right path and the wrong turn are only a few steps apart.
