A National Calling Card

Ye Zihe, a renowned scholar in Danhai City, once taught at a school in his early years. What made him proudest was teaching a graduating class in 1994, from which several outstanding students emerged. Amid the Belt and Road Initiative, these students work overseas. Whether in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, the dry grasslands of Africa, the impoverished regions of South America, or the barren lands of Central Asia, they have left their mark through their dedication. They have carried a shining calling card for China as it moves toward the center of the world stage. They have made enormous personal sacrifices for this, sweating, shedding tears, and even bleeding. When an unexpected epidemic struck China, Chinese people overseas, represented by these students, organized active fundraising efforts to support their homeland’s fight against the disaster, showing the strength of China from another perspective. This book highlights the moving stories of hardworking Chinese people abroad, represented by Ye Zihe’s former students.
