Determined to put China at the forefront of space exploration, astronomers like Nan Binghuai carried on the spirit of the older generation of scientists who had developed the Two Bombs, One Satellite program. They feared no challenges and overcame one obstacle after another, eventually building the world’s largest radio telescope.
