A Moment in Sumeru

The first time her soul returned to the four corners of the world, Wugu worked tirelessly to avenge that woman. Along the way, she saved someone, too. After stumbling through one hardship after another, she ended up with her soul-root shattered and reverted to her original form. With neither the face nor the heart to face the world, she wanted to hide away in Kunlun and never concern herself with worldly affairs again. But somehow, she found herself longing for that person. The second time she crossed the four corners of the world, Wugu thought that since she was going to die anyway, perhaps she could make it quick. She still hoped for a sweet romance, after all. But everything she'd known had been planned long in advance, and it slowly tore her heart apart. The third time... There was no husband, no children, no cozy hearth. The years stretched on, leaving no trace, while the four corners of the world held nothing but endless waiting.
