[Book Review Team] "The Record of Eight Wonders: The Call to Life"
[Short Comment] People who have never experienced hell are not qualified to talk about life and death. [Keywords] Martial Arts, Revenge, Assassin [Author] Gu Shuihan [About the Work] "Maybe you have thousands of reasons why you should not die, but there is only one reason for me to kill you. This is my job." In 1533 AD, the maid Miaolu was kidnapped by a group of robbers on her way to dowry. After being humiliated, Miaolu finally waited for an opportunity to kill her enemy, but was forcibly taken away by a group of mysterious people and accepted into the sect of the assassination organization Suo Mingmen, where she was trained as an assassin. From then on, there was no longer Miaolu in the world, but a ruthless assassin - Youxi. With the completion of each task, the reputation of Suomingmen and Youxi is getting bigger and bigger, which is accompanied by internal and external troubles. The Jin Yiwei's suppression of the organization; the conflicts within the Suoming Sect; and the former betrayal... Surrounded by conspiracy and betrayal, You Xi had to be involved in the long-term battle between the imperial court and the Suo Mingmen, and also witnessed the country's gradual decline and destruction. 🐣Quail's words: The story begins with a handmaid's note. She is full of vicissitudes but calmly recounts the past - how she was born in a businessman's family and became a family and had children, and how she and the eldest lady fell in love with each other as sisters. The date written in the handbook passed slowly. The maid Miaolu was deceived by the sanctimonious Jin Yiwei and lost her virginity to him. Then the convoy following the eldest daughter's wedding was robbed into the bandit's village. The men were killed and the female family members were humiliated. Miaolu flattered the leader in every possible way to protect the eldest daughter. Unexpectedly, she learned about the activities of the gangsters and Jin Yiwei. Then she attacked the leader, burned the stone fort, and joined the assassination organization Death Gate. The whole story gives people a strong sense of belief from the beginning, allowing readers to trust the storyteller, quickly immerse themselves in the story scene, and listen to Miaolu's confession with peace of mind. A somewhat beautiful bug is that Miaolu's self-narration is just about reading and hyphenating, but the writing style of the story is so beautiful, like Zhu Shuzhen's Peach Grove, like Xie Daoyun's Flower Notes, such beautiful and rich words are really a bit unreasonable. In addition to beauty, the writing is also rare and concise, with no unnecessary far-fetched words or pretentious lyricism. This is probably also complementary to the beauty. Different from the elegance and beauty of the writing, the story is full of compelling oppression from the beginning. Deception, killing, and humiliation are all unbearable for people to read. However, the story is also gripping and makes people want to see how Miaolu will escape and how he will kill his enemies. Even though the author's narration is clear, catchy and contagious, the whole story is still a bit too cliche. The plot itself has no unexpected surprises. The only reason it attracts readers to read is because of Miaolu's strong sense of immersion. Secondly... There are too many typos in the book (I have become so lazy recently that I don't even want to mark typos). In the end, I only read half of the book, because I have been reviewing this book for a whole month, and I am afraid that I will be busy again in two days. Looking forward to the subsequent overt and covert struggles, the rise and fall of the country, the author, cheers~
It has been more than a month since I wrote the first word of this book. Over the past month, no one has paid attention to it, and now it has received attention. I am extremely grateful here. Personally, I think that the work itself is slowly developing in a direction that I think is good. At least someone finally left a message saying that it sucks. So, I decided to leave this post here to record every bit of this work. At least if it dies one day, I can look back on it as a death anniversary post. In fact, when I was planning to write down these records, I didn't quite know where to start, so I'll just tell you what I want to say first. About the original intention of writing: In fact, writing has always been my childhood interest and dream. When I was in school, I also published some short articles in the school magazine that I couldn't bear to look back on. I once wrote a novel, but it ended before it even started because I was at work. I work as a film and television editor. My daily job is to receive recommendations from various websites to see which ones can be adapted. During this period, I also wrote some scripts for others. I was not paid after writing, and some were not broadcast after writing. After writing, I was paid for broadcasting but I was not signed. When I asked about the post, I forgot... I have experienced all kinds of strange things. I dare not say that I have read too many online articles, but as a profession, it is impossible to be less. After all, if you don't read them, you won't be paid, and if you don't say something after reading them, you won't be paid. Of course, there are a lot of good ones among these, but there are more works that I can't say kindly here, and they really make me uncomfortable. Good works burn the brain, bad works burn the heart. There is a famous saying: you can you up, no can no BB. I don't know if you can or not, but after being BB for so many years, I am really embarrassed not to up. Even if you can't, if you can let others BB, it can be regarded as repaying the debt. So now is my first work in the true sense. About the writing method: When it comes to the writing method, many people have their own formulas, such as the three golden chapters, the golden finger of the protagonist, the fast pace of the first fifteen chapters, and the suspense at the beginning... The fact that these formulas can be spread so widely shows that they have been tested and effective in the market. Whether these are good or not, I say of course they are, but I don't have them here. It's not because of arrogance or arrogance. In fact, because of work, I have read too much of this kind of thing. If you ask me to write like this, I am not happy myself, even if I am not happy, then I can't write anything good. So I adopted a very niche writing method, diary. Yes, the entire book is the protagonist's own diary. Through the protagonist's daily description, the entire big story is presented to the readers. And through the protagonist's pen, he wrote down some thoughts on human nature. It sounds very unconventional, but at least for now, my own writing is smooth. About the current results of the work: The first time I wrote this book was on November 7th. I received the contracted website on the 13th of that month. Just one month later, on December 6th, I received the trial website. Everything went so smoothly that I couldn't believe it. It sounds very powerful, but in reality it is quite skinny. From the first 10 collections to the first day of testing, after unremitting efforts, I finally... 12 Collections. Recently I received a message with two big words in it, which is really bad. In an instant, I burst into tears. Oh my god, I finally have a reader! Regarding data, it would be an absolute lie to say that I don't care, but one thing can be guaranteed, that is, I will continue to write until I finish this book. Can means no more. If up can't persist, then only BB will really be left. About chapter titles: As mentioned above, this book is written in the form of a diary using the protagonist's complete subjectivity to write the story. In order to be closer to a diary, the chapter title of each chapter is the time of the day. Since it happened during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the time is also the timetable of the heavenly stems and earthly branches, although the time converted to the Gregorian calendar will also be indicated later. In order not to show any cowardice, I also checked various information and conversion tables. However, many people (actually not many, since there are not many readers after all) raised the issue of chapter titles. Some people bluntly said that they just left after reading the large number of words, while others thought it was a pretense. In fact, it was originally designed intentionally to match the overall style of the work, but now it has made me confused. To change or not to change? If I don't change it, this hard-core chapter title will really put people off. If I change it, I really feel that it ruins the style of the overall work. Personally, I prefer not to change it. I also hope that everyone can ignore the chapter title and click in to take a few more looks. If you still feel that it sucks, it's not too late to leave. About the title of the book: In fact, the original work was not called this, but one of the conditions for signing the contract at that time was to change the title of the book, and it was required to be more novice, so this name full of middle school flavor was born. Just kidding, in fact, the reason why it is called the Record of Eight Gates is that the original idea was to make a series based on the eight outer gates besides the ancient Nine Gates, namely the Pirate Gate, the Gu Gate, the Organ Gate, the Thousand Gates, the Orchid Gate, the Divine Tune Gate, the Red Handkerchief and the Life-Suing Gate. About the type of work: I also discovered during the writing process that I seemed to have cast it on the wrong channel. It seems that this book is more suitable for the suspense category. This... I don't quite understand it. Can you change it? About... That's all I can think of at the moment. The rest will continue to be pretentious, complaining, gossiping, and chatting here if I think of it in the future. In addition, thank you to all the friends in the circle for your encouragement and support for the work and myself. The author thanks you three times here (although you can't see it)
That's awesome…it's a writing style that I don't know how to do
Just wait and fatten up, come on!
Can you keep updating it? Keep updating! Keep updating! Just sit back and wait to make a profit! Come on! It just puts pressure on you!
I actually laughed. What chapter title is this? 😄 Author, do you think you are writing a diary? Writing in a diary should also be written more clearly!
Wonderful work! Collected! Learn, learn! Come on update! Welcome to visit us for advice! !
Well, the early stage is pretty good Just wait and see and prepare to invest!
Man, I think... I want to... Forget it, I don't want to...
You can add a two- or three-word title after the time, which may be better, or the title is still a title. Use a diary format in the first line at the beginning of each article, with a certain day of a certain year, a certain month, and weather conditions. This may look a bit neater, in my humble opinion. If you don't like it, don't spray it. Looking forward to more exciting things. It has been collected and looks forward to visiting again🙂🙂
This author successfully ruined my good impression of Shuo Shu...
