The Bai Family Apothecary

Bai Yuanxin is a half-baked doctor with secrets from head to toe. After an earthquake, she had no choice but to leave the secluded grotto where she had lived for a thousand years and show herself to the world again.

Bai Yuanxin was determined to hide away in the mountains, but her plans went awry. Every time she tried to disappear under some pretext, the same man caught her red-handed.

“I'm really just an underage girl. I don't know anything. Please let me go, sob sob sob.” Bai Yuanxin made her Nth tearful plea, putting on fake tears.

The man ignored her disheveled face, streaked with snot and tears. “Do you think I'm an idiot? You just happen to show up every time. There can't be that many coincidences. Who do you work for? Come clean. Confession gets leniency; resistance gets punished.”

Bai Yuanxin was in tears, practically ready to swear to the heavens. “It really is a coincidence! Can I tell you I'm actually looking for somewhere to live in seclusion?”

Somewhere along the way, the two people who couldn't stand each other became the perfect partners.

After facing danger time and again, Bai Yuanxin discovered that she had far more hidden skills than she'd ever imagined, and gradually began to uncover the mystery of her own origins.
