The Empress's Path to Ascension

This is a thorny road to the throne, yet along the way, someone is always there to clear the brambles for her.

The seawall collapses, and the people are uneasy. With no other options, she makes a wager and swears to bring food and disaster relief funds within two days.

The people fret, but one person believes in her without a doubt. “She's never lost a wager before. This time will be no different!”

When the relief funds arrive, the people erupt in cheers. She looks up and spots someone standing shoulder to shoulder with her on the same line, across a sea of heads.

The court is rife with intrigue, and she is caught between the Crown Princess and the Third Prince. Someone is secretly plotting behind the scenes, helping her escape one crisis after another.

At last, she ascends the throne and offers him the post of prime minister, but he has eyes only for the phoenix throne beside hers. He flicks back his long robe and smiles with dashing charm. “Your Majesty, I want to sit there.”
