Investiture of the Gods: Has the King Lost His Mind Today?

[The Silly Version]:

Tao Yao never imagined that sneaking out of Biyou Palace to visit her girlfriends while her master was in seclusion would drag her into the Great Tribulation of the Investiture of the Gods.

As a proper disciple of the immortals, she’s forced to adopt a secret identity and seduce the ruler of the mortal world. Tao Yao is really not happy about it.

But wait, wasn’t King Shang supposed to be a lecherous, immoral tyrant? So who’s this guy sneaking into her Shouxian Palace every night to pull strings?!

And nobody told her the king was a seriously deranged snake spirit with a split personality!

Some Xin: My beloved, the Marquis of Dongbo is plotting rebellion, and the empress is in on it. I want to kill them. Help me...

Tao Yao: No, you don’t.

Some Xin: My beloved, my uncle Bigan and my elder brother Weizi Qi have joined forces and are planning something. I want to strike first. Help me...

Tao Yao: No, you don’t!

[The Serious Version]:

The Dark Bird descended, and Tang founded Shang; eight hundred and five years to bring the land to heel.

In Taijia’s tenth year, its glory returned; the feudal lords refused to pay tribute and invaded the borders.

A century of campaigns entered the annals; four prosperous relocations brought peace to nine states.

That day, one glance she could not forget; all was destroyed by King Zhou’s Investiture of the Gods.

Author’s warnings: First, if you insist on both leads being sexually inexperienced, please move along. The male lead won’t be inexperienced by the time he meets the female lead. Second... readers with religious beliefs should also move along. This is a pseudo-Primordial-era fantasy novel that follows the conventions of that genre. Finally... the author has a wild imagination and may even veer off from historical events on a whim. If you can’t accept that, please ignore this novel.
