The Heavenly Dao is heartless, and so are people; They slaughter the innocent and abandon their children; The strong are revered, while the weak are treated like dogs; Since Heaven has set me on a path without mercy, I shall sever family ties, extinguish love, and cultivate the path of forsaking all feelings and affection; Free from love, I will not hurt others, and I will be less likely to hurt myself.
