The Puppet Prince Is a Yandere

A puppeteer named Bai Qing has come to Jinling.

A puppeteer's ten fingers have “strings,” the key to controlling puppets.

A puppeteer's heart holds a “spirit,” the link that gives puppets a soul.

Bai Qing is the sole inheritor of the art of puppetry. The puppets she makes can fly to the heavens, burrow into the earth, move mountains, and overturn seas. She has come to Jinling alone with one purpose: revenge, and the death of Prince Yan.

She changes her appearance and lies low, waiting.

She makes countless puppets, but in the end keeps only two.

Three days later, she dismantles and destroys one of them, for reasons unknown.

Half a month later, the Crown Prince of the Celestial Dynasty falls gravely ill. The Imperial Astronomical Bureau declares that only the puppeteer Bai Qing can save his life.

Sure enough, three days after Bai Qing enters the palace, the Crown Prince recovers.

But Bai Qing has one question: why does the Crown Prince look so much like the defective puppet she destroyed three days ago?

That night, a chilling wind rises in the palace where she is staying. When she opens her eyes, she finds the Crown Prince kneeling on her bed, holding an exceptionally sharp carving knife against the top of her thigh. He seems to be wondering where would be the best place to start if he were to dismember her.

The Crown Prince says coldly, “Your bones can be taken apart into 206 pieces, and your flesh can be sliced three thousand times. I'm going to start now. It will hurt, so bear with it.”

Bai Qing: “???”
