Fahai, Don’t Run

Fahai stood before me, beaming as he waved the purse he had just stolen. “Hey, girl, now we’ve got money for drinks!” I was still reeling from the shock. The man standing in front of me might well have been the only monk in all of the Great Song Dynasty who excelled at every kind of swindling, cheating, and stealing. I’d always been a well-mannered, hardworking, modern-minded good demon on Mount Qingcheng. Was this how Heaven rewarded me? Getting dumped was bad enough, and now I’d run into someone like him. Come to think of it, do the monks at Jinshan Temple really have nothing to do all day? Maybe I should sneak off and report them to the abbot! A brand-new story that branches off from the New Legend of Madame White Snake. The heroine is Xiao Qing, and the hero is Fahai. Supporting characters Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian will pop in now and then. The protagonists will travel across heaven and earth, opening up new maps, and I’ll keep writing until the waters flood Jinshan and Fahai attains Buddhahood on the spot.
