The Legitimate Princess

During the reign of Emperor Xiaoming of the Great Zhou, Prince Rong Sima Zhengcheng and his good friend Xue Rong traveled south by imperial decree to provide disaster relief. At the garrison tower, they happened to meet Xing Zhenzhen, daughter of Xing Kefa, the Prefect of Suzhou, and a young lady from the Ling household. Xing Zhenzhen was gallant, adorable, and charmingly innocent, while Zhengcheng’s beloved, Ling Xiaoyu, was a passionate, righteous, and kindhearted celestial beauty. What Zhengcheng never expected was that the case of officials exploiting the victims of floods in Jiangnan would lead to a series of power struggles within the imperial court and palace. Amid bloody purges, setbacks, and the merciless persecution of slanderous rumors, Zhengcheng finally grew into a hero with Ling Xiaoyu and her close friend Xing Zhenzhen by his side. The princess titles bestowed upon Ling Xiaoyu and Xing Zhenzhen would also become the stuff of popular legend.
