Sensitive technologies cannot be sold. China, North Korea, Iran, and Libya are all restricted countries. Interestingly, Shanghai Microelectronics successfully developed a 90nm lithography machine in 2009 (core components were imported). In 2010, the United States allowed the sale of equipment above 90nm to China. Later, China began to tackle 65nm lithography machines. In 2015, the United States allowed equipment above 65nm to be sold to China. Later, the United States began to lose control of its younger brother, and SMIC had the opportunity to pick up a high-end machine. But we don't need to be discouraged. If we look at any real estate company, its sales can easily beat ASML's, oh yeah! The etching machine, which is second only to the photolithography machine in importance, is in much better condition in China. The 16nm etching machine is already in mass production and the 7-10nm etching machine is on the way. Therefore, the US emperor has very considerately lifted the blockade on the Chinese etching machine. To inject elements such as boron and phosphorus into the wafer, an "ion implanter" is used. In August 2017, the first domestic commercial machine was finally launched, not to mention the level. Applied Materials owns 70% of the market share of ion implanters. To apply photosensitive materials, you need to use a "coating developer", and Japan's Tokyo Electronics Company has taken 90% of the market share. Even auxiliary materials such as photoresist are almost monopolized by Shin-Etsu of Japan and Dow of the United States. From 2015 to 2020, the domestic semiconductor industry plans to invest US$65 billion, including US$50 billion in equipment investment, of which US$48 billion will be used to purchase imported equipment. After all, China has invested an average of 13 billion per year in the past few years, and Intel alone has invested more than 13 billion US dollars in R&D. When it comes to semiconductor equipment, China has a huge responsibility and a long way to go!
