My Forensic Pathologist Wife Has a Dark Side

She was independent, a woman past the usual marrying age, and she spent every day facing corpses, some of them badly decomposed. If she hadn’t loved the wrong man and been made to wish she were dead, she thinks her life would have been peaceful and happy, and she might have become a housewife. When her life changed beyond recognition, she became more decisive, more discerning, and even developed a bit of a cleanliness obsession and a queenly streak. Men took one look at her and started keeping their distance. Scene One “The murderer must be left-handed, and the murder weapon should be inside the brocade box in your right hand. No matter how much money you have this time, you won’t get away.” Wang Manman curled her lips into a smug smile, thinking that this man had finally fallen into her hands. The man looked at Wang Manman, at a loss. After hesitating, he stepped forward and suddenly knelt before her. Opening the brocade box, he said, “Wang Manman, marry me.” Scene Two In a charmingly romantic café, Wang Manman wore a white lab coat. Her disposable gloves were stained with blood and some unidentifiable substance. She hurried over and sat down across from a man. “Sorry I’m late. You’re Mr. Xiao, the one Auntie Wang introduced me to?” Mr. Xiao looked at what Wang Manman was wearing, and his expression darkened. “I was late because I found a body and had to examine it immediately. The person drowned, and the body was badly decomposed. It was covered in maggots, wriggling all over it. They were the same color as the foam on your coffee.” Wang Manman pointed at the stains on her gloves, looking fascinated. But the man in front of her covered his mouth and quickly disappeared. Just as Wang Manman took off her gloves and threw them away, a man suddenly grabbed her hand. “I can accept you no matter what you’re like. Looks like you’ll just have to marry me...”
