Husband! Stay Away!

She disguises herself as a man. Petite but incredibly strong, she is naturally timid and afraid of trouble, and spends every day wiping away tears and pretending to be innocent.

He disguises himself as a woman. Unmatched in beauty and foul-tempered, he loves causing trouble and delights in tormenting her every day.

A contract, two years of misery, and now the end is in sight. But who could have guessed…

He would toss over a purse of silver, bundle her up, and take her home to keep tormenting her!

Their families are worlds apart. She refuses to marry him, but he insists on marrying her. So all she can do is… run!

At the family banquet, she tries to crawl out through a dog hole.

When a fire breaks out in the back courtyard, she plans to blend into the crowd and slip out the door.

At the temple to pray for blessings, she means to use the chaos to disappear without a trace. But wherever she goes, that pest is right there.

She manages to escape several times, but the results are always disastrous:

The first time, he pins her to the ground and kisses her senseless.

The second time, he catches her at the ancestral shrine and forces her to kneel for the wedding ceremony.

All right, all right. She’ll stop running.

If fate has decided it, she’ll stop running, okay?

She’ll just stay right here and be his wife, keeping her handsome husband company.

Drink big bowls of wine, eat huge mouthfuls of meat, and sneak a peek every day at the melodramatic lives of the wealthy. Honestly, it’s not a bad life.

But…

Wahhh, the life of a grand household really isn’t for someone like her!

She can put up with the family elders’ contempt.

She can put up with the men around her looking down on her.

She can put up with the maids and servants ignoring her.

But the young ladies who come to visit are hostile… She can’t put up with that!

So…

Don’t any of you come near me! Otherwise, I’ll send every last one of you flying into the sky and turn you into bird people!
