The Enchanting Consort: I Want Nothing of Your Heart, Your Majesty

Nangong Yi: “You can leave if you want, but give me back my heart!” Lan Ningxi: “You can stay if you want, too. Then kill with your own hands the woman who haunts your every dream. I don’t care for your heart, Your Majesty, and I never touched it. You simply couldn’t control it. What does that have to do with me?” Lan Ningxi was half-demon. Her father didn’t love her, her mother was gone, her sister bullied her, and her younger brother betrayed her. They wanted to give her away as a gift? Don’t make me laugh. She’d rather set fire to her past... Reborn, she would return with a vengeance. Better for me to wrong the world than for the world to wrong me! They say she brings her husbands misfortune? Fine, Nangong Yi. I’ll marry you, and you’d better stay alive! She’s waiting for the liar to tear off that cloak of lies himself! Excerpt One: “Your Highness, something terrible has happened! The secondary consort has fallen into the water...” “What?” She was pregnant. Although Nangong Yi didn’t want the child, Consort Hua was the daughter of the current prime minister, and she could help him ascend the throne. He couldn’t afford to offend her. So he hurried over, putting on an anxious show. When he reached the scene, Hua Yimei was clutching her stomach in pain, sprawled in the arms of a maid. “Your Highness... Your Highness... save me...” Nearby, Lan Ningxi sat frozen on the ground in terror. She was truly innocent! “What happened?” Nangong Yi lifted Hua Yimei into his arms. Her pale face gave him quite a fright. “Has the imperial physician been summoned?” “Yes. The imperial physician is on the way!” the maid replied fearfully. “How did she end up in the lake?” Nangong Yi asked, glancing at Lan Ningxi. She looked at him with an innocent expression. She really hadn’t done it! “It was Sister. She pushed me in...” Hua Yimei murmured weakly, then fainted. “No, I didn’t...” “Guards, lock the princess consort in the secret chamber!” He left without another word, carrying Hua Yimei away and leaving Lan Ningxi behind. Her heart turned to ashes as she sneered at the sky. Whoever wrongs me, I will wrong in return!
