Bratty Heiress, Don't Pin This on Me

One is a sharp-tongued, domineering heiress with money to burn.

The other is a promising prospect, cold on the outside but warm within.

One careless move, and he becomes her all-purpose personal nanny.

The Ice Prince versus the spoiled heiress: a battle of wills without a single shot fired is about to begin.

They're usually like this:

She goes to the movies, and he clears the place out.

She goes for coffee, and he clears the place out.

She goes to a concert, and he clears the place out.

“Stop following me around like a pack of puppies!”

He replies calmly, “It's the old master's orders.”

She looks at him arrogantly. “Fine. You want to follow me? Then go ahead!”

But sometimes they're like this:

He's carrying several bags of shoes in his left hand and several bags of jewelry in his right, with a few women's handbags slung over his shoulder.

“You spendthrift woman! Whoever marries you will be doomed for thousands of lifetimes. I've made my professional assessment: you'll never find a husband!”

She tosses her long hair with a flourish, her bright red lips curling proudly upward.

“People who say things like that are usually expressing envy, jealousy, and resentment. So, what do you say? Want to be my kept man? If I support you, you can save yourself at least a hundred years of hard work!”

He curls his lip disdainfully. “Who do you think you are, Empress Wu? I'm not about to live off you!”

Or sometimes like this:

She's doubled over with menstrual cramps, breaking out in a cold sweat, her legs trembling so badly she can't sit or stand.

Wearing an apron, he makes her soup in the kitchen, its sweet aroma filling the air.

“Here, have some soup.”

“What is this stuff? I'm not drinking it!” She looks at the soup with disgust, even though it smells delicious.

He patiently explains, “Brown sugar and ginger water. It's good for women to drink a little brown sugar water.”

Can a man who switches effortlessly between aloof heartthrob and goofy sweetheart really fail to win the heart of a spoiled heiress?
