Some stories present the cruel and intense adolescent psychology ("The Demon Mirror"), and some scenes show the tranquil and warm human experience ("Trinity Tea Party"), but whether it is the characters' compromise with money and desire, or the pursuit of spiritual life and freedom, they are all compressed by the author into a sand table-like microscopic town scene, and this is the story of her fictional town "Pingle Town" in western Sichuan.

This book is the first part of the "Pingle Town Trilogy" that Yan Ge is writing. The author reconstructs the youthful confusion of a generation from the perspective of Yuan Qingshan, a girl who cannot control her body growth. The novel contains both positive and negative stories. On the front, what we see are the children who grow up and curse loudly in dialect. In the dusty plain town of Pingle, they form gangs, commit petty crimes, fight, fall in love, and want to leave but are unable to leave in the end. While telling the tragedy of all living beings on the four streets of east, west, north and south, it also depicts the maze of pain at the bottom of the human heart that only women can understand. At the back of the novel, there is another story that is not easily noticed, about ancient gods, relics of gods, mutated bodies, a girl who turned into a cuckoo bird, and a fisherman who became a catfish, which adds a mixed and lonely atmosphere to the work. With this book, Yan Ge was selected as one of the "Top 20 Future Writers" by People's Literature magazine.

"Pingle County Chronicles" is the latest novel by the writer Yan Ge, and it is also the finale of his "Pingle Town Series". The book has a total of fourteen chapters. The story takes place on the East Street of Pingle Town. Fu Qihong, the deputy director of the County Chronicle Office who is about to retire, and his daughter-in-law Chen Diju are the two protagonists. They connect the growth and separation of a young man and woman and the ups and downs of small town life. This is a literary archive of Pingle Town written in the form of a virtual local chronicle, and it is also a postmodern "three words and two shots". Yan Ge made a conscious modern transformation of the three-character and two-part script novel, unfolding the narrative in the tone of a storyteller, and cleverly used various old-style poems and rhymes as well as Sichuan dialect, blending classical and modern senses, making the novel text rich in layers and space, showing a strong ability to reshape modern Chinese and contemporary stories.

"Story of Strange Beasts" is an early work by the novelist Yan Ge, which describes the joys, sorrows and joys of a world where humans and beasts coexist. As the plot unfolds, the protagonist discovers that she also has the blood of a beast. She is no longer a bystander to the fate of beasts. This book is the second part of the "Pingle Town Trilogy" that Yan Ge is writing. The protagonist Duan Yixing (i. E. The narrator "I") has never appeared in the novel, nor has he promoted the progress of the story. In the innocent voice of this crazy daughter, the author tells the story of how the family, especially her father, Xue Shengqiang, director of the Chunjuan Douban Factory in Pingle Town, prepared for her grandma's 80th birthday party. Family members who are far apart return to town, stirring up old grudges and bittersweet memories. As the birthday party approaches, old and new secrets surface, exploding like timely bombs. Funny, vivid, wanton, and pungent, the past and present are intertwined without leaving a trace under the overlapping montages, like a lively genre painting of a small town in Western Sichuan, or a verbal adventure that breaks into the Sichuan dialect.
