"Pyramid" is Golding's important masterpiece. It is a masterpiece that deeply explores the possibility of love in a dark human nature and world. The novel is divided into three parts, which capture three fragments of the protagonist Oliver's life: the summer when he was eighteen years old, his first vacation at Oxford University, and his return to the old place at the age of forty-five. The structure of the novel is modeled on Beethoven's sonata design, which is extremely artistic and has profound implications: the theme that shines brightly on the top of this pyramid is "love": "Be kind when you get along with others; if you have love, you will live, if you don't love, you will die."

"Youth Cafe" tells the story: There is a Condé Cafe in the Latin Quarter on the left bank of the Seine River in Paris. What's her story? What unknown secrets are hidden behind her charming light? Is she running away from something? The story revolves around the disappearance of the young woman. Four narrators appear one after another, telling readers Lu Ji's short life experience.

Andrew Jackson was the first civilian president in American history and the first Democratic president. After American political society entered the "Jacksonian Era" from the "Jeffersonian Era", the explosive development of the economy and industry posed a huge threat to the principles of American constitutional democracy. Facing a series of challenges, Andrew Jackson vigorously strengthened the power of the president, maintained federal unity, and created "Jacksonian democracy" during his term. The famous historian Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Deeply analyzed the history, culture, economy and political life of the United States during this period, reinterpreted "Jacksonian democracy", and sharply pointed out the double crisis faced by progressive historiography. In 1946, 28-year-old Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Won the Pulitzer Prize for History with this book, becoming the youngest winner of the prize at the time. This book is still the authoritative history book on this subject.

王阳明集(全2册)
I
The core of Yangming's theory of mind is "the heart is reason", "leading to conscience" and "the unity of knowledge and action". He advocates speaking according to the requirements of one's own nature, advocating that one should try one's best to express thoughts and feelings that have been suppressed for a long time, and advocating that people use the original "conscience" of "my heart" to distinguish right from wrong and act in accordance with their own wishes. This kind of practical spirit and values of achievement reflect the subjective spirit of human beings and have the shadow of modern enlightenment philosophy. Wang Yangming's pursuit of independent consciousness and the concept of individual liberation caused huge waves in the ideological circles at that time and injected fresh academic air. Years are passing and times are changing, but Wang Yangming's philosophy of mind remains timeless and still exudes great spiritual charm. In order to allow readers to comprehensively understand Wang Yangming's philosophy from multiple angles, we took the Longqing Xie's engraving of "Wang Wencheng Gongquan Shu" as the base, carefully edited, organized, and checked, and finally formed this set of "Wang Yangming Collection".

"Mainstream of Nineteenth-Century Literature" is a literary history full of poetry and passion, a landmark masterpiece. It is a high-rise and majestic book that vividly tells the life story of the writer and provides thoughtful analysis of the works. It vividly reflects the magnificent history of the European literary world in the first half of the 19th century, especially the youthful movement of Romantic literature. Although this book is divided into six volumes, each volume is an independent chapter. This volume analyzes the thoughts and creations of French writers such as Charles Nodier, Vigny, Hugo, Musset, George Sand, Balzac, Stendhal, Mérimée, etc., Especially allowing us to see the "romantic" side of Balzac and others.

This book contains a total of 20 critical articles and speeches written by Eliot from 1919 to 1936. Eliot, who was also devoted to the creation of poetry and drama, carefully explored the golden age of drama - the Elizabethan era. He put Shakespeare, Marlowe and other playwrights under his pen for careful and cautious analysis. At the same time, he pointed out the crisis of modern education at the end and proposed the significance of classical literature cultivation in modern education.

"Selected Main Philosophical Works of Descartes" is a selected translation of the philosophical works of René Descartes, an important French philosopher in the 17th century. It covers Descartes' main philosophical works, including "A Discourse on Method", "Meditations on First Philosophy", "Principles of Philosophy" and "Passion of the Soul". Among them, "Principles of Philosophy" has not been published in Chinese translation since 1958. As an important representative of European rationalist philosophy, Descartes put forward important philosophical propositions such as "I think, therefore I am" and "universal doubt", which had a profound influence on the development of later philosophy. Hegel called him "the father of modern philosophy". The four Descartes works in this anthology have been translated and published in Chinese single editions earlier, but some of them are difficult to find due to their age, and some of them have inherited many errors in the original versions. This book examines the Latin, French and English versions of Descartes's works, marking the differences between the versions, which helps readers grasp Descartes' philosophical thoughts more carefully and accurately through comparison.

As a writer who advocates reason, Ayn Rand's primary contribution in this book is that she completely demystifies writing. She firmly believes that writing is a skill that can be learned and anyone can learn it as long as they master scientific methods and are guided by rational principles. This book is compiled from 10 "Novel Writing Classes" lectures given by Ayn Rand to friends. First, Ayn Rand discussed the relationship between the subconscious and inspiration in novel writing. She pointed out that inspiration is not obtained deliberately, but is the natural result of the continuous accumulation and polishing of materials in the subconscious. Afterwards, Ayn Rand gradually and in-depthly analyzed the four key elements of novel writing in a clear context: theme, plot, characterization and style. She started from her own creative experience, and at the same time, she also compared and analyzed passages of works of multiple creators in detail, and gave readers unique and practical writing suggestions.

The first novel for teenagers written by the British genius Nick Hornby is pungent, humorous, sweet and heartwarming, as well as educational. From the perspective of teenagers, this book explores how to make the right choices after making mistakes while growing up. My name is Sam and I am sixteen years old. I love to skateboard, I mean skateboard. I was doing pretty well a while ago, and good things happened one after another. Like: My mom finally got over her scumbag boyfriend. Like: My art and design teacher asked me if I had ever thought about majoring in art in college. Or like: After weeks of embarrassing myself in public, I finally learned two new board-playing techniques. Beyond that, I met Alicia. But it wasn't long before Alicia and I ran into big trouble: She was pregnant. This is all just stupid, stupid, stupid. I tried to escape, but found it impossible. Countless real-life problems are before me, far more trivial and complicated than I imagined... I choose to bravely take on responsibilities that are inconsistent with my age. At the same time, I want to say: If Tony Blair knew that he would be a prime minister at my age, then I bet that he would use condoms very carefully.

"Childhood" is one of Gorky's trilogy of autobiographical novels and a representative work of Soviet Russian critical realism literature. The book was written by Gorky with the encouragement of Lenin. It tells the story of Alyosha who lost his father when he was young and lived in his grandfather's house. He spent a repressed childhood in a suffocating family. The whole book is unfolded through the eyes of children, truly and vividly reproducing the suffering and helplessness of the "lead-heavy" life of ordinary Russian citizens at the end of the 19th century.

This book is a collection of "Ancient Water Margin" written by Mr. Mei Jihe during the Republic of China, that is, the last fifty chapters are not allowed to be banned. The first 70 chapters are basically consistent with the Guanhuatang version of "Water Margin" reviewed by Jin Shengtan; while the last 50 chapters are completely different from the currently popular 120-chapter version of "Water Margin". The Liangshan heroes here were not recruited. Until Chapter 120, they were still fighting bloody battles with the government troops. The next 50 chapters were separately typed and printed by Shanghai Zhongxi Book Company in 1933. The preface by Mr. Mei Jihe recorded the details of the publication at that time. The last 50 chapters of "Ancient Water Margin" have twists and turns in the plot and distinctive characters. Some scholars believe that it is the same author as the first 70 chapters. By comparing and analyzing the last 50 chapters with the first 70 chapters, we found that the plot structures before and after are coherent and consistent, and the layout echoes back and forth, forming a tight unity; without the former, the latter cannot be established; without the latter, many plot arrangements in the first 70 chapters are difficult to understand accurately. The characteristics of the characters before and after are consistent. The main characters in the last 50 chapters can be judged by their words and deeds. None of the other sequels that can be seen now can reach this level. The world view reflected before and after is consistent; the artistic style is consistent; especially the language characteristics of the times and local characteristics are also consistent.
