"Mirror in the Sky" is a collection of short and medium-sized novels by Chen He. The novels have different backgrounds and focus on the survival and emotional state of Chinese people in Peru, Algeria, Toronto, Vancouver and other places. Unlike the previous generation of immigrant writers, Chen He no longer focuses on the issue of Chinese identity in these novels, but highlights the universal problem of mankind - existential crisis. Through different writing techniques, he constantly asks about the meaning of life. "Mirror in the Sky" tells the story of a writer named "Li" who went to Peru to search for the footprints of Che Guevara and his revolutionary partner Chino, a Chinese descendant in Peru. This involves a history of blood and tears of the struggle of the Chinese who traveled to South America to make a living in the 19th century. "Dan River Gorge" is about a Chinese man in Toronto who decided to join the Canadian Army. The meaning of life can only be confirmed through constant search. "The Bunker" takes place after SARS in 2003. Ali, who was declared dead, suddenly returned to Algeria. How did he start a family in a foreign land, and how did he return as a deceased person? "Winter Blackout Night" describes how "I" looked back step by step on a night when there was a power outage and uncovered the hidden secrets of my neighbor's house.
