Before arriving in this dark place where she could not see her own hand in front of her, Ji Yonghe, a priestess of the Zhou Dynasty, last remembered a festival celebrating victory. She had stood beside the altar, respectfully fulfilling her duty...
Suddenly, the world spun. Ji Yonghe opened her eyes to a dim forest. Following the purple hem visible on the grass, she looked up and saw the fox demon Zi Yunting, dressed in purple. She had lost her memories. Clever and perceptive, Zi Yunting noticed the distinctive double Kui-dragon pattern from the Yonghe Chime Bells on the inside of Ji Yonghe's wrist, and decided to help her recover her memories.
Meanwhile, Professor Jiang Jianwei, a researcher of history and culture, was tearing his hair out in the storeroom for a special exhibition at the museum under his charge. The most important item in the exhibition, the Yonghe Chime Bells, had gone missing!
With the exhibition about to open, Professor Jiang immediately reported the matter to museum director Tian Dalong and said they needed to call the police. But Tian Dalong, who had taken up the post just seven days earlier, stopped him from doing so to protect his own career. He threatened Professor Jiang with the paper the professor was preparing to publish. After arguing, the two finally reached a compromise: Director Tian and Professor Jiang agreed to spend seven days searching for the missing Yonghe Chime Bells. Professor Jiang had no choice but to take his assistant, Xue Yuanlang, and begin investigating their disappearance.
Director Tian, meanwhile, called in a favor from his relatives and found his niece, the well-known private detective Zhang Shuhui. He asked her to assist Professor Jiang and Xue Yuanlang. As they reviewed the surveillance footage, they saw something impossible to explain, and began to wonder whether the disappearance of the Yonghe Chime Bells was connected to something beyond scientific explanation.
Just then, through a chance encounter, private detective Zhang Shuhui got in touch with the fox demon Zi Yunting. By what seemed like sheer coincidence, she discovered that the double Kui-dragon patterns on the inside of Ji Yonghe's wrists were identical to the ones on the Yonghe Chime Bells. With this clue, Zhang Shuhui and Xue Yuanlang immediately went to find Zi Yunting. Once they found the fox demon, they entered his secret realm, where they met Ji Yonghe.
In Zi Yunting's secret realm, Ji Yonghe recovered her memories, and her body began to shine like bronze. As Zhang Shuhui and Xue Yuanlang watched in disbelief, they discussed with Zi Yunting how to bring Ji Yonghe back to the museum.
With Zi Yunting's magic, Ji Yonghe was able to return to the museum in human form. Xue Yuanlang asked Jiang Jianwei to turn off all the museum's surveillance cameras. Then, together with Zhang Shuhui, he brought Ji Yonghe to the exhibition storeroom. When Zi Yunting's spell wore off, Ji Yonghe turned back into the Yonghe Chime Bells and once again lay quietly in her box. The special exhibition opened successfully.
On the day of the exhibition, Zhang Shuhui and Zi Yunting stood in front of the Yonghe Chime Bells, gazing at and speaking with their "friend."
