A burglary case drew Red Robin's attention back to a hidden corner of Gotham. The thief was the first one he'd encountered after making the defining choice of his life at thirteen. Her codename had existed in Gotham for only a few years before she vanished, and he was the reason she disappeared.
That year, Batman was patrolling with his third Robin when they came across Catwoman and the caramel-haired kitten at her side. Maybe they were imitating the adults, or maybe it was love at first sight. The two of them chased each other across Gotham's rooftops, and people all said she was his Catwoman. What they didn't know was that he and the caramel-haired kitten had started dating after they met. Then, after a huge fight, the kitten ran away.
Jason, before he was used to Tim:
“Dickie Bird, why does that kid sometimes leave his bedroom door wide open and lie on his bed staring into space?”
“You can assume he's reliving his angsty youth-novel phase. Don't worry, Little Wing, he does this every couple of weeks. Just give him five minutes.”
“The world's second-best detective is an emo boy? And he snaps out of it way too fast.”
“Oh, that's not it. When the five minutes are up, he turns on the security cameras to watch his angst in person.”
Catwoman looked at the clothes scattered all over the room. There were expensive suits as well as comfortable casual wear. “My dear kitten, don't tease him too much. The bird has quite a vindictive streak.”
Viola used a T-shirt to make a nest for the actual cat. “It's just a little prank. He can come catch me if he wants.”
Bruce, that day: “Tim, I think I need to know why you're sitting in the kitchen drinking coffee wearing nothing but a tie and a pair of swim trunks.”
When Tim broke into a smile, he added, “Actually, never mind.”
Notes:
1. The timeline is a mess, and there are original cases. Please forgive any out-of-character moments.
2. A clever, mischievous cat burglar who plays dirty x a brilliant little Red Robin detective who always has a plan. The heroine disappears, but still works for Catwoman.
3. A sweet, lighthearted story with just a little angst. It might turn into a comedy.
Theme: Ultimately accepting each other's differences
