During a sudden burst of inspiration, Chen Huang mistakenly saw an indescribable thing.
From then on, her life changed beyond recognition.
Chen Huang was invited to join a tabletop roleplaying game, but something went wrong while she was making her character sheet.
Every one of her character's stats got rolled into Inspiration.
Chen Huang: "?"
With a character sheet like this, she'd die in a crisis caused by a burst of inspiration before the game even began.
Her teammates suggested tearing up the sheet and starting over, but Chen Huang refused.
With this much Inspiration, how could she not max out [Library Use] and [Cthulhu Mythos]?
Yet during a simple train-sound check, her high Inspiration let her hear the whispers of an Elder God.
"Welcome to the Old Ones' Abode, Bethuseliah."
"This is the world I created for you."
When she awoke again, Chen Huang discovered that she had transmigrated to a wondrous world and taken on a new identity.
A Listener.
Just then, the familiar sound of a train whistle rang in her ears once more.
-
In the Old Ones' Abode, Chen Huang can always hear His whispers.
She walks the world as the "voice of the gods," becoming Nyarlathotep's mouthpiece.
"My most faithful follower, heed my teachings. Go to the Land of the End and awaken the souls of the Old Ones!"
So someone asks, "What divine decree has the god bestowed?"
Chen Huang smiles and lies: "The god said I will become the new Nyarlathotep."
She deceives the whole world, and the gods unleash their wrath upon her. Chen Huang, when everything you say is destined to come true, how can it be called deceit or trickery?
