The Fire in My Heart

Gu Lianlian was born frail and would not live past eighteen. While searching for medicine to save her, her grandfather, Gu Shijian, the leader of the Qingshan Sect, was gravely wounded.

Senior disciple Wang Tianhong seized the opportunity to murder his master and take his position, driving Gu Lianlian and her family off the mountain.

At eighteen, Gu Lianlian died.

She was reborn in another body as Chen Dadao, a peasant girl who had come to seek instruction. Thus began her road to revenge and power.

The heroine is sweet on the outside and ruthless underneath. She eventually becomes the strongest in the world.

The male lead, Lin Jin, is Gu Lianlian's senior brother, a white-robed swordsman and lovesick simp. Cool and innocent, he is willing to give up everything to win her love.

Gu Lianlian: "Senior Brother Lin, who do you really like, the old me or the me I am now? But it doesn't matter. Since you like me, you can't like anyone else, not for a single moment."

Gu Lianlian thought she didn't love Lin Jin. She was simply curious about why someone could willingly give everything for another person.

Until he really died.

A friendly warning: The plot is satisfying, but the romance is angsty. The male lead gets most of the angst.

Happy ending with Lin Jin.
