[The Otherworldly Wheel of Dares Challenge, Part Three]
[Every heroine will draw her own lucky dare]
[This story's dare: Date continuously for 300 days]
Lan Feng turned thirty and was still single. According to her younger sister, she was the kind of person who would never be satisfied and would always find fault.
Lan Feng couldn't stand her sister, but had to admit she was right.
Lan Feng was plain-looking, quietly sensual, and sparing with her words. Inside, she was a storm; outside, she was numb and composed. She'd read a few pretentious books and was forever on the path to being highbrow and misunderstood, admiring herself and feeling sorry for herself. But despite all that, her standards for a partner were high: beautiful, obedient, easy to control, devoted to loving her, and entirely hers, without giving even a little of themselves to anyone else. Ideally, she could keep them at home, waiting for her to come back every day.
Lan Feng would have stayed single for the rest of her life, doing no harm in this green and peaceful world, if she hadn't been forced to take on a strange challenge.
This fussy, self-important artsy type had no choice but to step down from her pedestal and start looking for a suitable romantic partner.
She looked and looked... but there was no way to find one through normal channels.
She had no choice but to set her sights on the school's most handsome guy.
He was beautiful, poor, young and vain, and she'd gotten her hands on a huge secret that gave her leverage over him.
Awkwardly, she made her move.
And somehow, she really did get him.
Their relationship was half genuine, half fake, half awkward and half forced. In short, it wasn't quite to Lan Feng's liking.
When the day finally came, she prepared to break up, breathing a sigh of relief as if she were sending off some demanding old lord.
She never expected her handsome young boyfriend to end up in the hospital, barely making it through.
Lying in his hospital bed, he smiled quietly, the corners of his eyes red and wet. His smile was strange and sickly.
"You've had your way with me and ruined me. No one else will want me now. Didn't you say you liked me when you held my head down?"
"If you don't want me, I'll die."
"Who are you looking for today? That shameless old professor, or your first love? I knew every time you came to kiss me smelling like another man."
"Sis, kiss me."
Lan Feng slapped him.
Her boyfriend smiled, his gaze obsessed. "A kiss with your hand is fine too, but I'd rather kiss your lips."
Lan Feng: ...What a lunatic!
Later, this legendary actor, director, writer, and screenwriter, whose name made it into history textbooks, still had a huge following of desperate, fanatical admirers around the world at fifty. Some were even willing to pay for paving stones she'd stepped on.
This eccentric, hard-to-please, headstrong genius was famous for achieving success late in life.
When someone interviewed her and wanted to write her autobiography, Lan Feng chose this sentence for the introduction:
Thirty is still young, young enough to be the beginning of everything: life, love, and selfhood.
[Notes for readers]
1. An ordinary, gloomy woman x a volatile, beautiful, lovesick man. There is an age gap, 30 x 18. They are not formally teacher and student. The heroine is an administrative teacher at a neighboring college and has no direct teacher-student relationship with the male character mentioned in the blurb. The ending isn't settled yet, and may be open.
2. I got distracted while writing a long story, so I'm writing a short one to switch things up. It'll be over soon.
3. The heroine and the male character may both be unlikeable. The heroine is stubborn, pretentious, selfish, and only wants others to serve her without giving anything in return. The male character is a volatile, two-faced weirdo with a bizarre way of thinking who becomes love-struck after being coerced into a relationship. Don't compare this to real life. One is nasty, the other is starved for love.
4. The heroine looks like an ordinary person. When dressed up, she looks like an ordinary person who has dressed up. All the male characters are handsome and beautiful, and see the heroine as a goddess.
5. The heroine is Lan Feng, and her younger sister is Lan Peng. Their names come from the line, "A vast wind bears the roc aloft for ninety thousand miles."
Theme: Love yourself, and then the whole world will come to love you
