An NPC in a Love Game in the Insect World

A female insect can't live without a male insect.

But not all female insects like males.

Some witnessed their male parents abuse their female parents from childhood. Some have been disappointed too many times. Some simply spend their lives on the battlefield and never bow their heads.

Yet the emptiness of instinct and the suppression of pheromones remain deeply engraved in their flesh and blood, making them volatile, suffer false pregnancies and difficult births, mutate, and live in pain.

So many insects turn to technology and virtual worlds,

trying to ease their symptoms.

And so the costly virtual male master game was born.

Even though every second spent looking at the male masters in the game costs a month's rent, and they're stiff and wooden, able to do little more than repeat the same few lines and actions,

countless female insects still flock to it.

-

One day, Lin, an ordinary Earthling office worker, opened his pet-raising game, only to find a cold, handsome man covered in blood, with fearsome wings growing from his back.

He opened his icy golden eyes and called out to him unwillingly.

“Male Master…”

Then he pulled open his clothes, unable to hide his pain. “Please.”

???

Lin was so startled that he flung his tablet away with a smack.

Had he opened the game the wrong way??

…

Later, Lin accepted the game that couldn't be deleted.

He opened it every day to pat the chibi characters inside and watch hearts pop up over their heads.

He had no idea that whenever he logged in,

the full-immersion virtual male master, who looked exactly like him, would also open his eyes.

…

Rumor had it that the chronic illnesses of several leading heirs from prominent Star Alliance families had been cured.

As the public debated whether there had been a recent medical breakthrough…

a virtual video just a few seconds long leaked online. It was shared and bookmarked over a million times in an instant, and the virtual male master company's phones were inundated with calls.

Every insect wanted to know:

What conditions did they have to meet to see this completely different, warm and lively virtual male master in the video?

The protagonist is probably a heartthrob who devotes himself to curing insects. Note that while in the virtual world, he may have physical contact with multiple love interests. He may end up with no romantic pairing, more like a national idol. There may be a pairing in the bonus chapters; I haven't decided yet.

I won't write a love interest who's extremely insecure. That's not my thing.

Still developing the idea, and I'll revise the blurb later.
