Is This the Villain Role for Your Scheduled Cat Neutering?

Unable to find a job, Cheng Yu starts an unusual gig on a certain secondhand marketplace: playing the evil villain who takes cats to be neutered.

He has to snatch his clients’ cats and take them to get neutered, then let their owners rescue them. That way, the cats will love their owners like crazy.

On his first day, Cheng Yu presses the doorbell with a smile.

“Hello, did you book the cat-neutering villain?”

The door opens, and Cheng Yu freezes.

His most famous high school classmate doesn’t recognize him, and simply steps aside to show him a cat lounging on the floor.

“Won’t you blow my cover?”

Cheng Yu puts on his mask. “Probably not.”

The act begins. Cheng Yu menacingly snatches the cat and rushes it to the animal hospital.

Strangely, the cat behaves itself the whole way, putting up no resistance and even acting affectionate.

The first job is a success.

But a week later, his former classmate sends him a video, looking troubled.

“Hey, didn’t you say the cat would cling to me like crazy after I rescued it?”

“I think my cat hates me now T.T. Could you come over and take a look?”

In the video, the angry cat swats at Cheng Yu’s former classmate, leaving bright red scratches all over his strong arms.

Cheng Yu hurries over.

The cat, which had been furious with its owner, quiets down when it sees him, sits obediently on the floor, and gives a soft little “meow.”

His former classmate gives him a complicated look. “...Could I book you for two months of follow-up service, until my cat likes me again?”

Embarrassed and unsure what went wrong, Cheng Yu says it’s the least he can do.

He keeps trying to repair the relationship between the man and his cat.

By the time the follow-up service is over, the cat can’t bear to be apart from Cheng Yu, and neither can its owner.

A man and a cat crouch by the doorway, staring at Cheng Yu with pleading eyes.

The cat acts cute and cuddly. Its owner hugs it and does the same. “Can’t you stay? Mei Meng says he wants you to be his dad.”

“My partner.”

Cheng Yu: “...Huh?”

Cheng Yu: “O-okay, I guess.”
