(The story is complete 🥰)
Check out my upcoming novel: The Minister's Wife
A mild-mannered, honest minister's wife × an emperor who seems gentle but is secretly a madman (blurb at the bottom)
After the late emperor's death, all the consorts in the harem who had borne no children were ordered to join him in death. The lovely Yulu was afraid to die, so she gritted her teeth and lied, claiming she was pregnant.
But with the new emperor about to ascend the throne, the truth couldn't stay hidden forever. Yulu decided she had to find a capable man as soon as possible and get pregnant by him.
As she searched, Yulu set her sights on a young guard she had met by chance.
His tall, straight figure could not be concealed by his robes: his long legs, broad shoulders, and...
Yulu couldn't help secretly swallowing.
It took considerable effort, but she managed to seduce the young guard into spending a night with her.
What Yulu never expected was that the guard was all looks and no substance. No matter how hard he tried, day and night, he couldn't get her pregnant.
With no other choice, Yulu turned her attention to another guard she knew.
Just as she was about to use the same trick to seduce him, the young guard suddenly appeared and pinned her inside a side hall, just one wall away from the place where she had arranged to meet the other man.
The young guard was no longer cold and distant. He gripped her pale wrist tightly and snarled, "Haven't I given you enough? How can you still be thinking about someone else?"
Yulu: !!!
The months-long period of mourning would end the next day, and the late emperor was to be laid to rest in the imperial mausoleum.
Outside the plain white mourning hall, the palace servants were busy making preparations. Inside, just one wall away, the new emperor held Yulu firmly in his arms, one hand resting on her swollen belly.
His gaze drifted toward the magnificent coffin before them.
"You tell Father: whose child is this?"
Reader's guide:
1. One-on-one romance, both leads are each other's first, happy ending.
2. The heroine entered the palace late and has low status, so she has never met the hero.
3. A simple, sweet romance. The plot serves the romance, and the political intrigue is childish. I'm still working on the logic.
4. Entirely fictional setting. Please don't nitpick historical details.
My next novel: The Minister's Wife
On the eve of her wedding, Yun Yao came across a blind man who was badly wounded and barely conscious. She took pity on him and was about to help, only to discover that he had been drugged with a potent aphrodisiac.
By a twist of fate, the two spent one wild night together.
Afterward, she fled in a panic, treating it as a dream no one would ever know about and never mentioning it again.
A year later, Yun Yao became a married woman. Her husband passed the imperial examinations and entered officialdom, and the two of them set off for the capital, believing their lives would only get better.
Unexpectedly, the man with whom she had spent that wild night in the cave was none other than the current emperor!
Yun Yao was terrified, but the emperor seemed not to recognize her and never mentioned what had happened. Gradually, she put her mind at ease and continued to bury the unspeakable secret deep within her.
Until the day her husband was framed and thrown into prison.
To save him, Yun Yao had no choice but to risk everything and summon all her courage to plead before the emperor.
The young emperor was gentle and magnanimous. He patiently listened to her tearful account of the injustice, then helped her to her feet with a warm hand.
"I understand what you have said, Madam. I will clear your husband's name."
Yun Yao was deeply grateful and eagerly awaited her husband's release.
But that night, the husband she longed for never came. Instead, the emperor arrived with all his disguises cast aside.
The handsome face she had admired that day for its kindness now loomed over her. Fingers faintly stained red abruptly seized her chin, gripping so hard she could not pull away.
The man bent close, his hot breath brushing her ear. "I rescued your husband for you, Madam. How do you plan to repay me?"
"After all, you were quite delicious a year ago."
His eyes, usually warm with a smile, were now filled with undisguised, deep desire. His gaze swept suggestively over her trembling body.
In an instant, she understood everything.
*
Everyone praised the current emperor as gentle, benevolent, modest, and refined, a man who treated both officials and commoners with generosity and tolerance.
No one knew that he had a bloodthirsty, murderous compulsion.
Until an accident brought him into an intimate entanglement with a farm girl whose face he couldn't see. Her distinctive scent soothed the madness and murderous urges churning inside him.
He had planned to take her back to the palace, but the next day, she was gone.
When they met again, she had entered the palace with her childhood sweetheart of a husband, smiling brightly as she affectionately held his arm, her eyes full of love.
Since this woman could cure his affliction, he would take her into the palace by force and make her his, even if she was already married.
At first, he only craved her scent. Later, he wanted more and more. Only then did he realize that Yun Yao was not the one imprisoned. It was his own heart, already lost to her.
He loved gripping her waist hard, leaving layer upon layer of marks on her fair skin. Sometimes, even when she didn't want him to, he would bite her hard with a cruel smile.
"Tell me, if I leave these marks on your body, will anyone see them during the day?"
Theme: Love must be sincere
Ah! It can't be what I thought, author, why are you so good at writing!!! I understood it almost instantly. I'm a little motion sick 😣
There won't be any more in the future? The little princess doesn't want to be an empress, right? . .
The little princess is so cute. If you meet a scheming boy in the future, "Daddy, he is not a bad boy." What will the hero think 😏
My brother is really smart
In the paragraph 47%-60%, are these two characters from this book?
There is a section that seems wrong, right?
[Orange candy] I got it [Orange candy] I got it [Orange candy] I got it
The author is great, the heroine eats so well, I want to eat too, can you make a literary game so that I can eat too 😣
The author should write more restrictions, some people like to read it, just like this hehe 😣
Not bad, I finally waited until it was over 🧋
