A True Account of Falling for My Sister

Let's first summarize some of the consequences of the Ship Wang family's bad talk back then: (1) Expelled from Wharton University; (2) The movement is restricted by the family, and the heroine is not allowed to appear around her until she is 30 years old; (3) Compensation, hush money, annual alimony, etc. After signing a private agreement In my memory, it should be said that both of them were plotted and drugged, but who did it is unknown (probably the enemy of the Ship King or the Loud Mouth Brother). When I re-read it, I was not sure what happened, but now I understand after reading the new article. It was indeed plotted by a third party, but this swordsman didn't care about himself and liked to pretend to be innocent afterwards. Su Su should be born in the 1990s, so this incident happened in the 1990s. In the United States in the 1990s, an ordinary middle-class family/individual tried to sue a member of a prominent family for infringement. It was very difficult to successfully convict at the criminal level. The possibility of obtaining huge compensation at the civil level was relatively high, but it was often accompanied by coercion such as silence. It wasn't until 2017, when the #MeToo movement broke out (it's closer than imagined, right?) That there were some objective changes in country A's judicial system and legal practice. Now, in core areas such as California, even if the two parties reach a private settlement for compensation, the agreement cannot be forced to include a clause "prohibiting the victim from publicly stating the facts" (unless the victim himself actively requests confidentiality to protect privacy). Even now, you must have seen the example where the offender obviously had no background, but was only expelled from the university, not even expelled from the school, and was protected by the school... Anyway, I can think of at least more than one case. Su Yuyang was in the 1990s, and the other party belonged to a powerful family, so one can imagine the pressure she faced. Since it is called the "shipping king" family, it means that it is not only mainly engaged in industries such as shipping, but also the leader in it. It is not on the same level as ordinary capitalists. This means that they are not a wealthy class in the general sense, but a family that controls a large shipping industry, capital and social network. For a seventeen-year-old girl from an ordinary elite middle-class family, this power gap is very specific. In front of ordinary elite middle-class families, they are definitely behemoths that cannot be messed with. Su Yuyang also had another important disadvantage at the time: underage drinking. As a top student who skipped a grade to enter Wharton University, she was 17 years old at the time, and the legal drinking age in the United States was 21. This resulted in her having some minor legal responsibilities and being questioned by the public and the jury. Moreover, she was unconscious at the time, and it would definitely be extremely disadvantageous for the judicial system to question the entire process in detail. It is very difficult for victims who are not perfect to defend their rights even now. In fact, the Ship Wang family seems to be a bit of a loser now, because at least it seems that they did not immediately find a third party to plot against them. If there is clear evidence that both sides were drugged, then it can't be ruled out. The purpose of this plot is obvious, which is to illustrate that the difficulties in the judicial process will cause many women to give up on defending their rights. The original words in the article are as follows: "And if I really go to court, I will have to repeat what happened that day over and over again, and face the lawyers, prosecutors, and the jury. The ship king's influence is still quite large. If the media is brought in, it will be very troublesome." Su Yuyang spoke very steadily, "Looking back now, I don't think this matter can have any real impact on me. But I was only seventeen years old at the time, and no one can guarantee that I will be able to bear it." Under this premise, Su Yuyang compromised, and she chose material compensation. Although she couldn't really punish the other party, she could at least get substantial compensation. The experiences of the characters reflect the unfairness of the judicial system, the inadequate protection of victims and even secondary harm in the judicial process, the oppression of public opinion, the difficult situation of women, and the insignificance of individuals without roots and background in the face of capital. People who have watched "Initial Evidence", "The Accused" or Netflix's "Unbelievable" may have a deeper feeling about this. Su Dong once mentioned his own experience in a few words. I almost believed him, thinking that it was more than ten years ago. Things that I was not aware of at the time may be even fainter in my mind now. But now we know otherwise. I knew that she wanted to keep Jing Tan from worrying and deliberately downplayed it, but I didn't expect that she actually restrained much more than I thought. It was Mr. Tan who observed her with all his heart and noticed every slight fluctuation in her eyes, and he was able to capture the fear and depression behind her. As a young single mother, being looked at through colored glasses in life and work was a longer period of torture for her. These are not mentioned briefly in the story, but are constantly reminded to readers in the reactions of various characters for a long time. Even if I had just read in the first few chapters that Su Yuyang gave birth due to drunken behavior when she was young, she might have subconsciously developed some prejudices in her heart - and even with this subconscious prejudice, the attitude in the article is critical. Whether the author cares about the characters or not, whether they are good or not, can be known from the close connection between various details and the storyline. If there is no support from the original content, it is impossible for readers to create understanding out of thin air, no matter how much they talk about it. Before reading the update, I thought Susu didn't know the whole story, and that was indeed the case. The reason why Su Dong didn't tell his daughter is easy to deduce. First of all, he definitely didn't want Su Su to have any psychological burden. Originally, Su Su was a very sensitive and empathetic child. Moreover, since both parties have already signed an agreement, even if the daughter hears the whole story, she can only feel angry and powerless. Brother Zuishui seems to be okay, but behind the scenes, the family may have suffered serious losses, and we will definitely not know until the full story is finished. There are many things that are only superficial illusions, and there are many information gaps that have not been revealed so far. I tend to think that the author's character is basically on the path of revenge, at least in other books. It is difficult to judge prematurely for a story with many twists and turns. Sure enough, when I saw the update today, it was to beat the person up first and inflict direct physical threat to the other person in fear and pain. This is the best revenge that can be done at the moment. In "Old Fire", at first glance, it seems that the foul-mouthed guy has not been locked up, and there is nothing wrong with him, but I guess it is just an illusion. After all, since Mr. Tan said he wanted to cause "trouble" for the other party, he would never be soft-hearted. She has personally been with Mr. Su for so many years and knows her hardships, so she will definitely take revenge ruthlessly. The Jing family is a huge deep-sea octopus with a big business. They have all kinds of businesses, and they are all basic types. They must be able to deal with the Ship King family. And despite Mr. Tan saying it's not worth mentioning, it really does take someone of the Jing family's size to do it. At least for Su Yuyang, who had no foundation, it was still very scary. If Su Dong was alone, he might not be afraid, but he might also be thinking about Su Su, fearing that she would be affected by the media and be pursued and questioned by the media, disrupting her normal life. And as Su Su grew up and entered the entertainment industry, she probably became more worried. Even if the prosecution period is now relaxed and things that happened twenty years ago can be prosecuted, she cannot rush to overturn the case. There is one point worth mentioning about the portrayal of Brother Ruizui: At first glance, he doesn't seem bad enough. Not all bad people will write "I am a bad person" on their faces, they will pretend to be decent and normal people. The Wang family gave more compensation for material on board the ship. In fact, it was essentially set up so that Director Su would not have to work too hard in these years. This characteristic of being a talkative makes him look a bit funny, but it also makes people sick of his cowardice and habit of unconsciously looking for excuses. If just because the villain didn't say any silly or stupid lines, we could make us think that he is a good person and that he has merits - then we would be deceived by the illusion too easily. Even in the face of such a ruthless thing that is not entirely responsible, they will not waver when it is time to take revenge. This reflects the true attitude of the protagonists. The author's consistent point of view in many books is that women themselves must have strength, but they must also draw on their strength and not reject the resources available from society and connections. Essentially: Don't isolate yourself. Giving up substantial interests for the sake of a so-called fight will make you suffer, and the other party will not be punished, so the gains outweigh the losses. In the plot of "The Sultan's Game", you can only choose between drinking the enemy's milk and taking revenge. But things are different in modern society. The enemy's milk is not a gift, but the price that the other party should compensate. You can drink the milk of your enemy without hindering your future revenge.

I can't bear to leave you. Don't stop here 😭 😭 😭

I think this book is more delicately written and should be more popular. I hope the author can update it more.

Jingtan is really domineering in this chapter. To Yuyang, she is no longer that little child, but a lover who can be trusted and relied on.

Wait, why is the status paused? 😭 😭 😭 😭 What kind of last supper is this? 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

I'm so excited ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 😳 You guys have finally kissed me. Dong Su is so gentle, and Mr. Tan is so gentle, reliable and cute.

There were a lot of updates and the pause flag was put up, and I suddenly became scared [transformed]

Mr. Tan really has a general feeling. He is not afraid and does a great job.

It's been a month, are there really no more updates? 😭 😭 😭

The meaning is still not finished, the meaning is still not finished. I feel like I could also write the stories of many mothers, including Director Wei, Professor Yuan, and Mr. Jiang. It would be interesting if the three of them knew each other.
