A conceited, sharp-tongued, blind beauty gong (incredibly powerful) x a handsome, respected sect leader shou (petty-minded). One-on-one, no role reversal or splitting them up, both virgins, happy ending.
The story, roughly:
When he was thirteen, He Qixue loved playing with Xuan Huazhong most of all, and even stole a kiss on his lips when he wasn't looking. Later, he learned that every child in the Xuan family bore a cinnabar mark. Because of that kiss, Xuan Huazhong lost his chance to join a prestigious orthodox sect.
At eighteen, He Qixue beat Xuan Huazhong at the Swordsmanship Tournament and won the title of the greatest swordsman under heaven. That day, he smugly showed off in front of everyone like a peacock displaying its feathers, entirely oblivious to Xuan Huazhong's grim expression.
At nineteen, He Qixue saw Xuan Huazhong, poisoned and on the brink of death, collapse into his arms. Without hesitation, he used all his power to trade his life for Xuan Huazhong's and cure him. At last, Xuan Huazhong opened his eyes. The first thing he said was, "You were the one who framed me."
That year, He Qixue's heart turned cold as snow. The agonizing poison was nothing compared to heartbreak. In the end, he collapsed in a remote mountain valley, where no one would find him, and slept fitfully for ten years.
Two people shook him awake. When he came to, all he could see was darkness. He Qixue knew: He'd woken too soon. The poison hadn't been fully cured.
The two muttered things like "He looks a lot like him" and "Let's give him to the boss for money," then tied up He Qixue, who had lost all his cultivation.
He Qixue had no idea where he was. A pair of scorching hands gripped his chin and turned it from side to side, examining him over and over. A low voice said:
"He does look like him, but he's too old."
"Boss, don't worry. We'll dye his hair black, and then he'll look exactly like your beloved!"
Only then did He Qixue realize he'd been kidnapped to serve as a substitute.
Someone dressed him up and settled him on a bed. Then the mountain bandit chief arrived, putting on a high-pitched voice and speaking to him with exaggerated tenderness. "Xiao Xue, I misunderstood you before. In this life, I'll treat you right..."
Xiao Xue? What a disgusting name!
Unfortunately, his mute point had been sealed, so He Qixue could only curse inwardly. After listening for a while, he suddenly thought the man's voice sounded familiar.
Wasn't this that stupid oaf, Xuan Huazhong?
...He wasn't calling me, was he? He Qixue broke out in goosebumps.
At that moment, the voice dropped its gentle pretense and barked:
"Stop scowling. Smile! You don't look like him at all when you scowl!"
*
Later, He Qixue got his wish and was kicked off the mountain for being "too uncooperative" and failing to fulfill the duties of a "substitute."
Xuan Huazhong's assessment was: "He's like a corpse. I couldn't even bring myself to kiss him."
Free at last, He Qixue was delighted. He'd long wanted nothing more to do with Xuan Huazhong. But he still felt a little dissatisfied, so he found an old acquaintance and had him disguise himself as He Qixue to trick Xuan Huazhong and extort a hefty sum.
Ten days later, the man came back empty-handed and disheveled, shouting at He Qixue, "Brother Xue, he saw through my disguise! Xuan Huazhong knows you're alive, and he's coming here! We have to run!"
"Useless!" He Qixue didn't even have time to pack. He covered his head and bolted for the back courtyard, but just as he reached the door, someone grabbed his arm.
"Xiao Xue, don't go."
Stop being disgusting. Who's your Xiao Xue?
*Even though this is a groveling-and-redemption story, you can probably tell it's a comedy (Are these two really going to work as a couple??)
*Two nutcases falling in love
*The gong is incredibly powerful, at the ceiling level. Strong early on and strong later, only slightly weaker while recovering from injuries in the middle.
*I know a lot of people don't like devoted puppy-dog gongs. He only acts like that at the beginning, and the little puppy is pretty adorable too qwq. The shou will work hard to win him back later.
